OCXO
OCXOs offer a level of temperature stability above TCXOs. By maintaining a constant temperature using an internal oven, oven-controlled crystal oscillators stabilize the environment in which the crystal and electronics operate, enabling excellent stability. OCXOs are used as master timing for some systems or extremely stable clocking for circuitry. MV Electronics builds every oven-controlled crystal oscillator to a stated stability target and ships to programs in all fifty states.

What Are OCXOs (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillators)?
Constant temperature is the whole trick behind an OCXO, which heats the crystal to a fixed set point and holds it there regardless of ambient conditions. The internal oven draws power and needs a warm-up period, which is the trade a designer accepts for that level of accuracy. Master clocks, radar, satellite ground stations, and network synchronization equipment run on references of this grade.
How Wide Is Our OCXO Range?
Standard, ultra-stable, ultra-low-noise, and vibration-tolerant grades all run in our OCXO line. Frequency coverage spans 5MHz, 10MHz, and 100MHz as standard, with other points built to order. Every oven-controlled crystal oscillator ships with sine wave or CMOS output logic, at 3.3V, 5V, or 12V supply. Stability options range from ±10 down to ±0.05 parts per billion, in Euro case, one inch square, SMD, and DIP formats. Boards needing several timing parts can work from our full crystal oscillators catalog rather than sourcing each type separately. A tunable reference calls for a different part, so pull-range requirements route to our VCXO family.

Why Order Your OCXO From Us?
OCXO orders get taken on their merits, whether the specification is unusual, the quantity is small, or the drawing is decades old. Difficult parameters get measured in house rather than estimated, including phase noise close to the carrier and retrace after power cycling. Our whole precision timing components range runs through one engineering team, which keeps a mixed bill of materials under a single point of contact. Each parameter comes back confirmed in the quote, so nothing gets assumed between order and delivery. Once qualified, a part stays orderable through production, spares, and repairs, so a long program never faces a forced redesign.
Explore Our Oscillator Catalog Today
Specification sheets, phase noise plots, and package drawings are available for every OCXO. An oven-controlled crystal oscillator can be sampled before a design freeze, which keeps qualification risk off the schedule. Lead-time and stock questions get answered by the same people who quote the part. Programs throughout the U.S. order direct or through our representative network. Once the stability figure is settled, contact us.
